  ABOUT SHANNON

Acclaimed Beatles artist, Shannon, has been commissioned to create more than 110 pieces of original artwork for the Hard Day’s Night Beatles-themed hotel.

Bill Heckle, owner of Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club, described Shannon as “The World’s Greatest Beatles Artist”. He was also the person who introduced Shannon to the developers behind the Hard Day’s Night hotel.

Shannon has already started work on the paintings for the Hard Day's Night Hotel from her New Jersey (USA) studio. She said: 'I’ve been a Beatles fan for as long as I can remember and I was completely overwhelmed when I was invited to work on this project. I've been tasked with producing more than 110 paintings in just over a year so it's hard work but I'm loving every minute of it!'.

As well as producing artwork for King Features Syndicate, the company behind Betty Boop, Popeye and the original Beatles cartoons, Shannon has produced movie posters and celebrity postage stamps for Sylvester Stallone.

Gwen Stefani and No Doubt, Steve Tyler, Billy Idol, Cheap Trick, Billy Bob Thornton, and Jon Voight are just a few fans of Shannon’s work.

MUSIC: Shannon's music is very personal to her. Although she has played with many musicians on tour and in the studio, she feels comfortable to record as much as she can by herself. She plays keyboards, 4, 8, and 12 string bass guitar, rhythm guitar, some simple melodic lead guitar and programs her drums. Her voice is her own style, although her musical influences range from The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Supertramp, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, and Shelby Lynne to Billie Holiday, Etta James, The Andrew Sisters, Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin.

ART: In past years, Shannon’s art has become as familiar as the internationally recognized celebrities she showcases in her exquisite paintings. Inspired by the contributions of her subjects to the movie and music industries, as well as the worlds of sports and politics, Shannon has an extraordinary ability to capture the distinct energy and spirit of each of her subjects and to reflect these unmistakable qualities through her wonderfully vivid creations. Combined with a tremendous flair for originality and daring expression, Shannon possess an uncanny ability to express the grace, dignity, strength, and intensity which have elevated her subjects to positions of irrefutable recognition and prestige.

Shannon’s art has garnered the most gratifying of accolades, the enthusiastic support and approval of celebrities themselves and those within the industries in which they have achieved notoriety. One such celebrity, Sylvester Stallone, expressed his sincere appreciation and overwhelming support to Shannon personally moments after unveiling a five postage stamp tribute to the Rocky series on the 20th anniversary of the release of the United Artists’ Oscar winning motion picture, Rocky, in November of 1996 at New York City’s Planet Hollywood. Shannon worked with Sly again, on the development of the European illustrated movie poster for, 'DRIVEN'.

Shannon’s highly acclaimed Rocky postage stamp tribute followed other successful stamp design projects. Within the preceding years…James Dean, Jackie Kennedy, Muhammad Ali, Elvis Presley, Diana / Princess of Wales, JFK Jr. and others. All postal stamp designs receive national and international recognition. Shannon has won numerous prestigious awards in the fields of fine art and illustration. Such awards and successful projects, as those noted above and many others, have caught the attention of the England audience, which have named Shannon, 'The World’s Greatest Beatles Artist '.

This title has secured her the position of creating over one hundred and paintings for the first ever Beatles themed Hotel, appropriately called, “The Hard Day’s Night Hotel”. Its doors will open to the public in the very near future.

Her popular Beatles fame has earned her the Art Director slot in the new Broadway play, “AND IN THE END - The Life and Death of John Lennon”. The play will hit in 2008 (www.andintheend.com).

In the fall of 2002, Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame celebrated 'Guitarmania'. Shannon, and other celeb artists such as Yoko Ono; Peter Max; and Wyland, came together to paint giant, 10', fiberglass, Fender Stratocaster Guitars, destined to decorate those Cleveland streets of Rock n Roll. Good Morning America's, Tony Perkins, was there and spotlighted Shannon's Guitar as 'by far' his absolute favorite. Other News Teams, from around the world, joined in to agree. Shannon’s art, has since, been welcomed into the Rock Hall’s personal gallery.

Perhaps one of the biggest ventures: The announcement of the merging between King Features (Betty Boop, Popeye, Beatles Original Cartoon, etc.) and Shannon, with her latest creations for…Phantasy Choppers®. These miniature Chopper Motorcycle Sculptures made their debut in 2006. “Radical machines with a twist of cool”, she calls them. Watch out for 'Shannon's Bakery' rising to the occasion in the inter of 2008.

Also a singer-songwriter and multi-musician, unlike her peers who are influenced by other painters, Shannon’s true “fire” comes from her role models or “childhood heroes”. Such are John Lennon and The Beatles, Elvis, Frank Stallone's brother-Sylvester, Billy Holiday, Josephine Baker, Muhammad Ali, and Charlie Chaplin. “These are individuals who color out side the lines, go against the grain, defy all allegiance to normalcy”, Shannon says. “I feel comfortable here ... Surrounded by rule breakers and people that you just can’t keep down.

True people that ride their passion like an untamed horse in a hurricane of pessimism and defiance... only to survive and succeed.” Shannon's artwork has been televised on The Tonight Show, David Letterman, Regis and Kathy Lee, Good Morning America, Drew Carey, Oprah, Rosie O’Donnell, Leeza, Comedy Central, Hard Copy, Entertainment Tonight and more.

She has also received the “thumbs up” from the Spielbergs, The Stallones, Billy Bob Thornton, Armande Assante, John Paul Mitchell, Jon Voight, music legends Cheap Trick, Billy Idol, Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), No Doubt and many others. Utilizing her innovative eye, strong sense of design and inspiring creativity, Shannon has developed and perfected her painting style and in the process has amassed legions of loyal fans. Creative design, vivid depictions and luminous images are well known characteristics of art that is purely...Shannon.
